As you are working to figure out how to love your new garden you are probably going to end up sorting through a bunch of conflicting advice. Learning which advice is good and which advice is not as good can take some time. Here are some hints and tricks that every new gardener should know.
Many gardeners use mulch as a way to keep pests at bay while also increasing the nutrient content of their garden soils. Most weeds aren't able to grow in mulch. Mulch is used to keep plants healthy and nourished and because it reduces the amount of maintenance a gardener needs to do to keep the garden thriving. The fact is that there are a lot of reasons why mulch is so popular.
Mulch helps regulate your soil's temperature and keeps the soil moist for a long time. Mulch also cuts down on the cost of garden maintenance because it is much cheaper than other fertilizing alternatives. Mulch works just as well as the many alternatives out there but it is the most cost effective. Bees are important! You might not be thrilled to have them around your person, but bees are a godsend to a garden! Bees spread pollen around, which your garden needs if it is going to grow. Your plants need pollen to help them bloom. So, basically, you need to get used to seeing and dealing with bees. In fact, you might even think about doing whatever you can to attract the bees to your garden! Planting tomatillos is a great way to attract bees and to keep them busy pollinating your garden. You want to plant at least one tomatillo plant for the bees to swarm in and around and then, if your family members are also fans of tomatillos plant some more in an another area of the garden for yourselves.
Don't use pesticides; use aphids instead. Pesticides are awful for your plants and the environment. It can also be terrible for your health if you are growing fruit, vegetables, herbs or spices. Use ladybugs in your garden instead of pesticides-they are great for keeping your garden free of plant consuming pests. The ladybugs won't damage your garden because they eat the other pests what would have done that. Ladybugs and other pest eaters can be great for your garden. These pest controllers are more environmentally friendly. You won't eat them by accident. They also keep your garden pest free! Many new gardeners are intimidated by the process. The truth is that anybody can learn how to do it. Don't let yourself get intimidated by the photos you see in gardening magazines or displayed on television shows. Whether or not you are ready to believe it, you really can learn how to grow gardens just like the ones you daydream about. Even people who have never had any luck growing plants can learn how to grow a magnificent garden in just a few seasons of planting. Be vigilant! You'll eventually grow something wonderful!
